This is a variety of the Brittanica, these shows up from time to time in a nest shorthairs. Also named as Lowlander of Brittisch Longhair. The external characteristics of the British half longhair are: identically like the British shorthair except their fur.

Origin
We need to search for the origin of the Brittanica in Great Britain around 1900. In that time started the English men with showing and displaying those exotic race cats, these were coming almost without any exceptions from Asian countries. Many cat lovers from that time had not only exotic cats but also very ordinary house cats. These cats were found very ordinarily by the society.These types of house cats diverged because it was not breed in a well-considered manner. A number of lovers of farmer cats were wishing to involve in the English cat species breeder, so that these could serve on the shows as counterpart for the mostly small-boned Oriental Shorthair races. They selected their house cats on a compact and squat construction and crosses these with Persian cats to come to the desired type. In the beginning the race became called British Half Longhair, only bred in the fur colour blue, since this colour was then considered as particular chic. Such as and still this way now ans then Persian Longhair cats were confessed are used to hold round and squat type of the British Shorthair. Many British Shorthair cats carry thus the longhair gene and when two cats with the longhair gene become crossed with each other, a number of kittens in the nest shell have half longhaired fur. This gene can stay hanging, however, about twenty generations. Many years they seach good homes for those kittens and they didn't bred any longer, but since short is the half longhair Brit recognized at a number of coordinating organizations as separate race.

Character
The character of Brittanica is somewhat milder than that of the British shorthair. They stand also confessed for their good mood. Most of the cats are extremely tolerant and pleasant, and have a large adaptability. The kittens are like other cats playful and this up to a year or two. Afterwards they are less actively and they express less their presence. It doesn't lies in their nature to ask attention noisily and they can occupy themselves very well. They appreciate many contact with housemates. And they love to have a hug from time to time. Intercourse with other animals is generally very positive. The most cats don't have problems with kids, since they are kind-hearted and stable.

The Care
You don't need to put much work in for the fur care: a weekly brush must be enough. In for jeer- and autumn something more often concerning molts.

Body
The body of the British half-longhair shows some agreements with the construction of the Persian cats. They need to have a broad udder cupboard and short muscular back, the structure belongs to be in thick-set aspect. The legs are short and right, with round, firm feet.

Head:
The head is round, with full cheeks and a broad skull and it's standing on a short and bulky muscular neck. He has a broad and short nose, and the beginning of the nose may not be too explicit, but must proceed in a light convexity in the round skull face. And has a firm chin.

Eyes:
The eyes are large and round, and their colour depends on their fur colour.

Tail:
The big tail si short or average of length and has a wound up point.

Ears:
Their ears are small and short and stand far from each other.

Fur:
Dense implantes, senses firmly,is elastic and holds course by the cross-section and compactness of the fur, but it stands a little bit of the body. Some British half longhair cats have a too loose, long or gentle fur, these or not suitable for expositions.

Colour:
The fur of the British half-longhair can have lot of possible colours and colour patterns. The most known and most preference colour has been pale blue. The pale colours appearance in: white, black, red, cream, fawn, chocolate & lilac. They have thus purchaser to orange colour eyes in exception of the white that can possible also have blue eyes.
